Can't Install Audacity 2.12 on Mac OSX 10.6

Help for Audacity on macOS.

Image This forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and after.
Please land which version of macOS y'all are using,
and the exact iii-section version number of Brazenness from "Audacity menu > Near Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.ten are obsolete and no longer supported. If you lot yet take those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but yous can all the same read the archives of the 1.2.x and i.3.ten forums.

Can't Install Audacity ii.12 on Mac OSX ten.half-dozen

I'1000 running two.05. Only downloaded two.12 but it won't allow me to drag to my Applications folder.

Is it considering I'm running a previous version or is 2.12 not compatible with OSX 10.6?

They were Typos. I meant 2.ane.two.

I downloaded information technology from your site. I trashed the previous install. But it won't let me drag the plan to my Applications folder. Usually that happens if I don't have the proper system specs just according to this site, it should run on OSX ten.vi.

Any suggestions?

If the Mac asks yous to give a countersign when yous drag the Brazenness folder to /Applications, so you have to give an administrator password. If y'all don't know the countersign, contact your administrator, or drag the Audacity folder somewhere you don't need permission, such every bit your dwelling house folder.

Thank y'all. Copy and pasting the Audacity folder into the Applications folder manually did the fob. Not sure why the 'drag and drop' method wouldn't work but information technology'south all expert. Thanks for the tips.

Although I managed to install it, information technology won't work. I can't open audio or import audio. I can't drag audio into the project window either. Manifestly, there'south some outcome or disharmonize with this version and my Operating System.

Oh, well, I can revert to an earlier version. Thanks.

In 2.i.two you can drag most file types to the Audacity icon in the Dock. Or employ File > Open... or File > Import > Audio... . Not being able to drag audio files into Brazenness is a issues in 2.1.ii and it volition be fixed in the next ii.1.three release of Audacity when that comes out.

Y'all could use two.1.ane (screen reader) available here http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/. That version can elevate in audio files.
